English placement test
The test adapts to you and places you in one of our 15 sub-levels, from A1.1 to C1.4. It is demanding on purpose: it is better to start a little lower than to feel lost in class.
How it works
- 5 parts, from A1 to C1, 60 questions at most. Each sub-level is checked with 4 questions, one of them a listening task.
- To pass a part, you need at least 80 % correct answers and at least 3 out of 4 in each sub-level.
- The test stops as soon as you do not pass a part: we know your level, and what comes next would be even harder. A beginner finishes in 5 minutes; a C1 learner in about 40.
- 15 recordings. Turn the sound on or use headphones. You can play each recording twice at most.
- Don’t guess. If you don’t know, tap “I don’t know”. A level that is too high means a class where you feel lost.
- At the end, enter your email address and phone number: your result appears on screen and is also sent to you by email.
